Design for manufacturing-friendly tooling solutions
Our design engineers are responsible for the practical implementation of approved tooling concepts, transforming them into production-ready, robust solutions suitable for series production. Based on clearly defined parameters, we produce detailed tooling designs that are consistently engineered for precision, stability and process reliability.
During the design phase, component geometries, tooling configurations, parting lines, guides and functional areas are worked out in detail and continuously coordinated with the subsequent manufacturing processes. The focus is on manufacturability, dimensional accuracy and stable series production.
Through digital design, simulation-based engineering and continuous optimisation, we ensure that the tools we develop can be seamlessly integrated into our manufacturing and testing processes. This results in a precise, end-to-end tooling solution based on a validated concept – one that can be efficiently implemented and is reliable in series production.
Manufacturing technology for precision tooling solutions
A modern manufacturing infrastructure is crucial to the quality and performance of complex tools. With a diverse range of machinery, Schneider Form delivers high-precision manufacturing processes within a versatile setup. This applies to our own tools in new tool construction, as well as to the ToolDoctor service division for third-party tools and to selected manufacturing services in the contract manufacturing segment.
Flexibility, speed and maximum precision form the basis for robust tools and lay the groundwork for long-term process stability in series production.
An overview of manufacturing technologies
- Precision milling
- Eroding and deep-hole drilling
- Large-scale machining
- Measurement technology and quality assurance
Precise tool assembly and reliable processes
Assembly in toolmaking is integrated into the development and design process from the very outset and makes a significant contribution to functionality, service life and process reliability in series production. It supports both new tool construction and the ToolDoctor service.
- Design for ease of assembly from the design phase onwards
- Precise assembly of complex tooling systems
- Functional testing and fine-tuning
- Reliability and adherence to deadlines in new tooling production
- High flexibility and rapid response times in customer service
- Long-term process and operational reliability
The groundwork for series production is laid right from the toolmaker’s stage
Our technical centre is the facility where a manufactured mould is transformed into a stable, production-ready solution. Here, risks are systematically mitigated prior to the start of series production, processes are robustly validated, and the interaction between the mould, process parameters and component requirements is tested under real production conditions. Rather than merely sampling, the focus is on targeted process validation and optimisation. Deviations are identified at an early stage, causes analysed and systematically rectified before they affect series production. In this way, we create transparency, planning reliability and confidence in the subsequent production process.
The result is tools and robust processes that deliver reproducible production-quality results right from the very first shot. Our technical centre thus ensures that the transition from tool production to series production is controlled, low-risk and efficient – guaranteeing a smooth start to series production and consistently stable output.
- Industrialisation under mass-production conditions
- Targeted reduction of start-up risks prior to SOP
- Safeguarding of tools AND the production process
- Readiness for series production as a measurable outcome
Manage global tooling projects effectively
We coordinate complex tooling projects across national borders, supply chains and production sites. As your technical point of contact, we take full responsibility for ensuring that tools – regardless of the manufacturing or production site – meet our quality and functional requirements and are reliably transferred to series production. In doing so, we combine international manufacturing structures with German engineering and industrialisation expertise. Design specifications, manufacturing quality, assembly, sampling and process validation are centrally managed, evaluated and validated – with the clear aim of ensuring a smooth start to series production.
The result is tools used worldwide that deliver consistent quality, clearly defined processes and a reliable foundation for stable mass production.
