How OptiCheck improves
SKZ training and consulting
Initial situation
The SKZ faced two challenges: on the one hand, participants in training courses needed to be able to better understand the forces and effects involved in the injection moulding process. On the other hand, they were looking for a way to analyse process weaknesses more quickly for industrial customers.
Solution
With OptiCheck, SKZ now relies on a mobile solution to display mould breathing during the injection moulding process graphically and in real time. The visual clarity of the graphically displayed measurement curves facilitates the training of participants. At the same time, OptiCheck is an integral part of advising industrial customers.
‘When I go to a process consultation, the Opticheck case is an essential item.’
Christoph Mussauer
(Group Leader, Injection Moulding Technology Centre, SKZ)
The trade press confirms:
OptiCheck makes the difference
Since its market launch, OptiCheck has been featured several times in the industry-relevant trade journal ‘Kunststoffe’ as a solution for measuring mould breathing in real time.
OptiCheck in the trade magazine Kunststoffe
The 10/2021 issue of ‘Kunststoffe’ magazine presents OptiCheck as a digital solution for visual monitoring of injection moulding processes. Real-time detection of mould breathing increases productivity and extends mould service life.
OptiCheck and Engel in comparison
The 08/2020 issue compares OptiCheck from Schneider Form and Engel. Joint tests on bumper moulds on a two-plate injection moulding machine with a clamping force of 40,000 kN provide practical insights.
Frequently asked questions – our answers
Does the system need to be integrated into my machine control system?
No, OptiCheck operates completely independently of the machine control system. It is connected externally and can be operated with any analogue sensors.
Does the data need to be uploaded to the cloud?
No. Data collection and analysis takes place locally on the device. Your data remains with you – 100% GDPR-compliant, no cloud requirement.
How many sensors can be used?
You can connect up to 8 sensors simultaneously – they can be combined as desired and adapted to your requirements.
Can we install the OptiCheck ourselves?
Yes, you can install the system yourself – or have us install it for you if you wish. It is available as a complete unit or as a kit.
Is OptiCheck also suitable for smaller tools?
Yes, the system can be used regardless of size and is flexibly adaptable – also ideal for smaller tools or special applications.
What data can the system collect?
Depending on the connected sensors: e.g. pressure, temperature, displacement, wall thickness, force curves or positions. The evaluation takes place directly in the integrated data logger.
What requirements must be met?
Only power supply and access to the tool – no special connection, no network connection required.
